Emergency Veterinary Technician

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers, a privately-owned emergency and specialty veterinary hospital that offers specialized veterinary services to clients and referring veterinarians in Brandon, Florida, is seeking a skilled Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team. Responsibilities

• Assist with the triage, stabilization, and medical treatment of emergency patients under the direction of a veterinarian
• Perform diagnostic tests, such as blood work and radiographs, and interpret results to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian
• Maintain thorough and accurate medical records for each patient
• Monitor patients during hospitalization and report changes in condition to the veterinary staff
• Communicate patient treatment plans and instructions to pet owners
• Provide emotional support and education to pet owners during difficult and stressful times

Requirements

• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician preferred
• Experience working in an emergency or critical care setting
• Strong technical skills, including the ability to perform diagnostic tests and treatments as directed
• Knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
