Emergency Veterinary Technician - ICU Daytime

Fetch is a leading emergency and specialty veterinary hospital located in Brandon, Florida. We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our ICU Daytime team. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician - ICU Daytime, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill and injured patients in our intensive care unit. You will work closely with our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the admission and stabilization of emergency patients in the ICU
• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, including heart rate, respiration, and blood pressure
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian
• Perform diagnostic procedures, such as blood work and radiographs, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Provide post-operative care and monitoring for patients recovering from surgery
• Assist with emergency procedures, such as CPR and advanced life support
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records for each patient using EzyVet and Vetradar
• Communicate effectively with the veterinary team and owners, providing updates on patient status and treatment plans
• Ability to calculate medications and CRIs
• Attention to detail

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred
• Previous experience in ICU is required
• Strong technical skills and the ability to operate and maintain medical equipment
• Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility with work schedule, including availability for daytime shifts, weekends, and holidays
