Electrical Engineer Manager (MEP, Construction)

Industry: MEP Engineering Consulting

Location: Tallahassee, FL (in-office/hybrid is strongly preferred, but remote candidates selectively considered)

Compensation: Annual salary commensurate with experience + a full benefit package (see below for details)

Schedule: Full-time Monday - Friday, flexible work hours (with 10:00am - 4:00pm core hours)

Summary of Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Emphasis in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP)
  • At least six (6) years of MEP design experience
  • At least four (4) years of Electrical design experience
  • Permitting and engineering project management experience

Essential Responsibilities for an Electrical Engineer Manager

  • Lead the Electrical team and collaborate with all divisions and teams under the FSM brand to ensure that all projects are of the highest quality and delivered on time
  • Have extensive experience in commercial construction consulting including a full understanding of a building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as the required coordination between those trades
  • Communicate with clients about what needs they have and how to incorporate those needs into the contract documents
  • Be capable of understanding and designing to the latest building codes
  • Take responsibility of a design and the implementation of that design into construction
  • Prepare construction documents, engineering reports, and conducting field investigations
  • Prepare deliverables including calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Collaborate with the team on project progress through Microsoft Teams messaging, video calls, and by updating the FSM task list

Requirements

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Over six (6) years of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) experience
  • Over four (4) years of Electrical Design experience
  • Experience in designing building power and lighting systems
  • Permitting experience
  • Project management experience
  • CxA experience (preferred)
  • Revit experience (preferred)
  • Arc Flash knowledge (preferred)
  • AutoCAD experience (preferred)
  • Some travel required for on-site visits or team building exercises
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday
