F. L. Crane & Sons, Inc. an employee-owned specialty contractor with over 75 years of experience covering a wide range of finishing, metal panel systems and custom crating. We are based out of Fulton MS and operate 14 divisions throughout the southeastern part of the US. Leadership

  • Maintains and has expectation within the branch of ethical and moral behavior.
  • Possesses strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills for leading and cultivating an effective team.
  • Provides guidance, leadership, and coaching to office personnel.
  • Communicates changes in policies and procedures, explains their needs, and holds personnel accountable for their compliance.
  • Inspires and motivates teams of employees to achieve greater productivity.
  • Assists in recruiting, training, and developing a highly motivated and effective team of office and field personnel.
  • Identifies employee improvements and puts action plans/training plans in place.
  • Manages division in a professional way ensuring that there are no unnecessary distractions in the workplace such as pets or excessive visitors.
  • Makes adequate job site visits to positively impact field employees and assures that other office employees are engaging in adequate job site visits.
  • Monitors and directs daily operations to ensure policies and procedures are being followed, goals and objectives are met, and services are being provided efficiently and effectively; identifies new work, monitors and distributes workloads of employees; takes corrective action as necessary; personally handles the most difficult, sensitive or controversial projects for the division.
  • Ensures and is responsible for the review of all estimates in excess of $50,000 submitted from the division.
  • Directs departments in proper execution of their duties from Estimating, Project Management, Administration, and Accounting.
  • Conducts/Coordinates annual performance appraisals, promotions, and terminations within operations job functions.
  • Conducts effective employee meetings to keep good field and office communication.

Strategy

  • Works with Corporate Management Team to develop financial plans for the division.
  • Fully understands and reviews financial data to track growth and determine areas for improvement. Develops and monitors the division’s budget. Understands cash flow and impact to overall corporation.
  • Works with Corporate Team in setting operational sales goals for division.
  • Works with Risk Management department to identify and remove/reduce contractual risks.
  • Implements and maintains tracking for production and job costs on all projects to ensure proper and accurate estimates.
  • Conducts meetings, at least weekly, to discuss job cost and production goals to better project profits on jobs within division.

Customer Relations

  • Attends and participates in trade association events/meetings and engages employees in the same.
  • Orchestrates the division’s marketing efforts. Ensures excellent services and routine contact with existing customers and develops new customers with effective marketing efforts of themselves and employees.

Requirements

***Individual must have a vast knowledge of building a business or branch. Individual will be required to build this branch as a greenfield effort which will require business development and staff recruitment.***

***Individual must also have vase knowledge of acoustical ceilings, wall panels, and specialty items.***

Education and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or other related field. (preferred)
  • 10+ years experience working in a construction management role.  (required)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
