POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Program Management will be responsible for the leadership, delivery, and oversight of Pole Star Defense’s engagement serving the USCG and other public sector entities. This position will be responsible for shaping and managing the PMO’s strategy direction, approach, and deliverables and will bring a holistic understanding of the wider context to provide input into the PMO approach. In addition, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with clients to ensure close collaboration on existing engagements and to develop future business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who combines an entrepreneurial mindset and practical 'get it done' work style with deep subject matter expertise in IT solution delivery including business requirements, software design, development, and implementation, agile program and project management, and quality assurance. Exposure to large scale federal programs and initiatives and services, managed services, or information technology operations is fundamental to this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement PMO processes and policies
- Serve as the single point of leadership across multiple programs and own end-to-end accountability for Program delivery by driving engagements/programs to successful completion
- Collaborate with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs
- Manage and compile Program related financials and KPI information
- Provide and maintain capacity planning, forecasting, and resource tracking across the program
- Ensure Cross-Program dependencies are managed, and the dependency log is accurately maintained.
- Foster positive client relationships to help identify new business opportunities at dedicated agencies within the public sector space
- Lead stakeholder engagement efforts in the Program, creating a positive and collaborative stakeholder management environment
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience in an upper-management role, preferably in agile program management
- Experience delivering projects into AWS environments.
- Experience of delivering solutions with strong security requirements, ideally NIST800-53, FedRAMP IL1/5 or DISA .
- Outstanding knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
- Exceptional skills in leadership, facilitation and organization
- Superb communication (technical and non-technical), analytical and time management skills
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- PMP/PRINCE2 or equivalently qualified in similar project management methodologies
- Experience working with DHS or DoD
DESIRED SKILLS (Not Required):
- Master's degree in Business Administration or related field
TRAVEL:
- Ability for up to 20% travel both domestic and international

WORK SCHEDULE NOTE:
While this position is scheduled for a traditional Monday – Friday work week, our systems run 24/7/365 and as such, you may be expected to perform out of hours, on-call support on an as needed basis. Additional compensation may be available for working on-call, standby or holiday hours.
This is a Public Trust position and requires completion of a State and Federal Criminal History Report (i.e., background check) and may require a Department of Defense security clearance. Current and future employment will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of both the FBI Summary History Report and if designated, a DoD security clearance.
