Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Deburr Operator performs a variety of operations to remove burrs or sharp edges, clean surfaces on any bars or parts manufactured, prior to final inspection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
· Reads and interprets blueprints.
· Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials.
· Proficient in the use of measuring instruments.
· Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
· Use belt sanders, abrasive charged wheels, fixtures, foot or hand presses, files, scrapers, solvents and other hand tools.
· Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding set up.
· Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations.
· Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks:
- Drilling, tumbling deburring, bench operations and inspection of parts.
· Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the PM charts.
· Must be familiar with the basic machine functions to perform the tasks stated above.
· Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery.
· Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment.
· Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
· Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures.
· Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
· Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
· Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management.
· Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input.
· Flexibility with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.
· Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES
To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or GED
· Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.
· One-year preferred experience and /or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to stand, and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
- Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycle work.
- Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
