Data Analyst (hybrid remote/in-person)

Industry: Essential community services

Location: 75% remote, 25% in-office (Fort Lauderdale the first week of each month)

Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week with core hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm

Compensation: $22.95 hourly salary plus generous benefits package (see below)

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university OR four (4) years of related work experience
  • Familiarity with SQL, R, Tableau, Power BI, or other Business Intelligence platforms required
  • Ability to pass a level two (2) DCF background screening and a drug test
  • Previous experience providing data analysis and reporting services, managing databases, or related experience in the human service field (preferred)

About us: 211 Broward is a free, anonymous, 24-hour helpline offering listening support, information, referral, and crisis services. We provide every caller with a place to turn to when they need answers to life’s challenges--big or small--by connecting them with nearly 3,800 programs and services that are available in their area. We are a fast-paced crisis, information, and referral virtual call center that fills a critical need in the communities we serve.

About this position: We are searching for a Data Analyst to join our team. If selected for this role, you'll be responsible for supporting the reporting and data analytics needs of all 211 Broward's (211) departments. This responsibility includes building and maintaining reports and reporting systems within various platforms. Duties include identifying, collecting, and verifying the accuracy of all reports generated.

Essential Tasks of the Data Analyst

  • Ensures collection and distribution of data and reports in an ethical manner that is compliant with Inform USA standards and 211's policies
  • Manages the various reporting platforms of 211 for the collection and generation of data
  • Ensures that reports stay current as reporting metrics and elements change
  • Works with the Contract Manager to ensure all contractual reporting metrics are being properly collected
  • Assists the Director of Data Services in determining the reporting needs of the community
  • Develops a working knowledge of current data reporting platforms in use by 211
  • Generates reports as needed by the community, 211 personnel, record keeping policies, and 211 contracts
  • Maintains documentation on each type of reoccurring report, distribution list, and instructions on how to accurately generate each report
  • Works with 211 department heads and managers to identify and recommend areas for improvement to ensure quality service provision to the community
  • Analyzes and reports on service availability and Database usage trends
  • Assists in the training of 211 Broward Staff in properly using current reports and developing new reports
  • Develops and maintains strong professional relationships with 211 personnel and community members who generate or consume 211 data and reports
  • Attends data related community meetings and outreach events for the public as a representative of 211
  • Creates and maintains consistent communication channels, both verbal and written, between several parties (e.g., referral source, collaborating agencies, etc.)
  • Follows up with community providers to determine disposition and satisfaction of data reports provided
  • Assists the community in responding to immediate, long-term, emerging, and changing needs (special projects and specialty services)
  • Assists with identifying gaps and barriers to data collection and system issue trends by data report consumers
  • Provides seminars for 211 Broward staff, other agencies, and the general community
  • Becomes the subject matter expert in Visionlink

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must:

  • Reside in the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County area and be able to work in-office one week each month
  • Have a secure, quiet, and confidential workspace with reliable internet
  • Be free from caregiver responsibilities during work hours
  • Be able to pass a level two (2) DCF background check and drug test prior to employment
  • Meet or exceed our experience requirement:
    • Have a bachelor's degree from a four-year university in a related field OR
    • Have a combination of education and relevant work experience that totals four years
  • Have strong computer literacy skills
  • Have working knowledge of at least one Business Intelligence software (SQL, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc), required
  • Have high attention to detail and strong data analysis skills
  • Understand that occasional overtime may be requested during natural disasters such as hurricanes
  • Have knowledge of Information & Referral and Inform USA taxonomy (preferred, not required)
  • Be able to obtain Inform USA certification or other requested certification within 18 months of hire
