Custodian/Maintenance

Astatula Baptist Church and Astatula Christian School are hiring seeking a qualified candidate for a Head Custodian/Maintenance position to be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of our facilities - which include our church and K-12 private school. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
• Empty and clean trash receptacles on a daily basis
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing supplies
• Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when replacements are needed
• Ensure all doors and windows are secure before leaving premises
• Minor repairs and regular maintenance of buildings, equipment etc.
• Report any major maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel promptly

Requirements

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and handling of cleaning chemicals
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and floor scrubbers
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing a clean and safe environment
• Physically able to perform job duties including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Background screening is required.
