Full Job Description
The Copywriter and Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for crafting compelling copy for various marketing channels and implementing, tracking, and optimizing digital marketing and communications strategies that successfully enhance the exposure of the association's continuing education offerings and membership services. They will need to have a passion for storytelling, a strong grasp of digital marketing principles, and the ability to produce high-quality content that resonates with our target audience.
The position status for this role is full-time exempt and the salary is $55,000/yearly
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Develop creative and compelling copy for various marketing campaigns, including emails, social media posts, website content, ad copy, direct mail pieces, articles, etc
- Drafts content for our two publications – The Advocate and The Practitioner – including writing articles in different writing styles (i.e., feature stories, news stories, membership updates, etc.), and editing all articles for accuracy and correctness
- Collaborate with graphic designers and other team members to brainstorm and develop impactful content ideas
- Plan, execute, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across various channels to attract, engage, and convert target audiences
- Monitor campaign performance and analyze key metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
- Strategize, build, and oversee social media content through research, audience identification, bench-marking, and messaging-- this includes scheduling, monitoring, and analyzing social media posts
- Develops, updates, and maintains content for fvma.org while optimizing for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and drive organic traffic to the company's digital properties
- Work with the conferences, membership and communications teams to develop, implement, and evaluate marketing and communication campaigns that promote continuing education offerings and FVMA publications
- Support strategies to ensure marketing projects/campaigns are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Edit and proofread all print and digital content
- Support special events such as yearly conferences that help promote the organization's mission – including but not limited to the FVMA Annual Conference, the FVMA Gulf-Atlantic Veterinary Conference, the FAEP Ocala Equine Conference, and the FAEP Promoting Excellence Symposium
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field
- At least 3 – 5 years of related professional experience
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, copywriting, proofreading, and presentation skills
- Ability to write for various audiences, craft articles in different writing styles, and draft communications for different channels
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web development tools (WordPress, Drupal, etc.) desired
- Solid computer skills, including MS Office, and familiarity with marketing and video editing software (Adobe Creative Suite) and applications (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Insights, etc.)
- Experience in content production for various communication channels and working with email marketing platforms; experience using Constant Contact is a plus
- Video editing and production skills are a plus
- Outstanding organizational and planning abilities
- Detail-oriented and excellent multitasker
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Able to give and receive constructive feedback
- Must provide at least 3-5 samples or access to a portfolio of work to apply
