About Us: When applying for a new job, we feel it’s important for you to understand the culture of the company. OliverSperry Renovation was founded in 2007 by veteran builders Bill Oliver and Todd Sperry, because we believed that commercial renovation projects deserved to be treated as a specialized sector, instead of just a way to keep employees busy between new construction projects. We have always focused on delivering a unique client experience for projects that fit this thoughtfully created niche. Currently, we have a staff of over 20 employees with an annual volume of between $10 and $12 million. But it's not just about the money-- investment in our community and in personal relationships is something OliverSperry feels strongly about. Bill is currently serving on the Board of Habitat for Humanity, and Todd is the past chair of the United Way of the Big Bend, The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and the Sales Tax Committee. Numerous opportunities are offered to employees throughout the year to give back to our community, including paid volunteer hours.

About this position: We are looking for a seasoned Construction Superintendent to join our team. This person will provide management oversight to assigned projects, providing guidance and technical support for all job site personnel. The goal is to transform the client's contract into a finished project that meets or exceeds expectations-- all while coming in at or below budget and within contract guidelines. The Superintendent will provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager to facilitate an open line of communication between the company and the client.

We think you'll succeed in this position if you:

  • Are passionate about the renovation and construction industry
  • Have both technical know-how and strong leadership skills
  • Can professionally and confidently correspond with employees, vendors, staff members, and customers
  • Value integrity, ethics, and safety over shortcuts and speed
  • Understand budget and time constraints, and can think critically about how to approach your assigned projects
  • Can be a leader to employees under your watch and assist in their professional growth
  • Know when to ask for help, and take ownership of both successes and shortcomings
  • Are looking for more than just a "job" and want a long-term career with a financially stable but growing company

If this describes you, please read on!
