JOB SUMMARY
This CNC Machinist for the 2nd Shift will operate machine tools to machine metallic and nonmetallic workpieces for the Aerospace Industry, specifically during evening hours. This position entails performing a variety of tasks including setup, operation, and inspection of machined components to ensure they meet required specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret process plans, blueprints, and part sketches to determine necessary machining, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
- Ability to edit pre-written programs as necessary.
- Observe numerical control displays on the control panel and verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts against the process plan.
- Inspects first-run pieces and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications using operation certification knowledge.
- Utilizes various types of inspection instruments to verify work according to prints.
- Completes necessary job-related paperwork, including tags, inspection documents, and production logs.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance including monitoring coolant levels, filters, and overall machine cleanliness.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- 10+ years of experience in CNC machining.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints to required specifications.
- Experience with HAAS and Fanuc Controls.
- Strong capability to machine parts with extremely tight tolerances.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to stand and reach throughout the duration of the shift (8-10 hours).
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
- Frequently performs repetitive or short-cycle work.
- Regularly lifts, pushes, or pulls up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and willingness to work overtime to meet tight deadlines as needed.
- Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures, including use of safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, and machine interlocks as specified in assigned work area.

COMPENSATION
Pay Rate: $23 - $27 per hour
