Assistant Controller – Tampa, FL

Responsibilities:

• Supervises accounting personnel.
• Performs daily accounting duties and manages the monthly close process to ensure team meets the necessary deadlines.
• Responsible for reviewing the monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and addressing any discrepancies.
• Prepares and reviews financial statements to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies and procedures.
• Assists the Controller in the management of the accounting workflow across all departments by ensuring there are proper internal controls in place, including compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Works with external auditors and provides support for annual external audit.
• Assists in the financial integration and related accounting of acquisitions including
• Purchase Accounting
• Transitional Service Agreement Financial Management
• Financial transaction processing - billing, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable collections.
• Participate in monthly Branch P&L analysis with Operations leadership to develop skill, understanding of results, and the ability to connect to leading indicators and behaviors.
• Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes and management reporting.
• Participate in projects to standardize processes and develop automated reporting tools for Finance, Accounting, and Operations personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 3 years related accounting or financial experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Supervisory or lead experience at a progressively responsible level
• Previous experience or exposure to a Private Equity owned or growth company is helpful
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and compliance requirements of other financial statues
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Ability to complete projects and assignments with minimal direction
• Must be able to demonstrate initiative to thoughtfully research and follow up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
