F. L. Crane & Sons, Inc. is an employee-owned specialty contractor with over 75 years of experience covering a wide range of finishing, metal panel systems and custom crating. We are based out of Fulton MS and operate 14 divisions throughout the southeastern part of the US. · Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and technical documentation to assess acoustical requirements.
· Conduct site visits when necessary to gather relevant data and understand project scope.
· Prepare detailed cost estimates for acoustical materials, labor, and installation.
· Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and ensure accurate budgeting.
· Develop and refine estimating templates and methodologies for improved efficiency and consistency.
· Compile comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and technical specifications.
· Assist the sales and project management teams with client presentations and clarifications regarding estimates.
· Work closely with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
· Provide technical guidance on acoustical solutions and recommend cost-effective alternatives when applicable.
· Identify potential risks or challenges in project execution related to acoustical systems.
· Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
· Maintain an organized database of historical estimates, project costs, and supplier information.
· Generate periodic reports on estimation accuracy and project performance for continuous improvement.
Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in acoustics, engineering, construction management, or a related field. (preferred)
· Minimum of 2 years in acoustical estimation. (required)
· Certifications such as ASA (Acoustical Society of America) or relevant construction estimating credentials. (preferred)
Preferred Skills and Abilities
· Familiarity with acoustical materials, soundproofing systems, and related construction methods.
· Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
· Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
