Job Title: Part-Time Social Media Marketing & Communications Strategist  

Location: Delaware / Virtual  

Reports To: CEO  

Hours: up to 18 hours per week (Flexible schedule)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and self-driven Social Media Marketing & Communications Strategist to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies, creating engaging content, and managing communications across various platforms. Additionally, this role includes writing press releases, developing monthly newsletters, managing donor communications, and supporting fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can work independently to grow our online presence and advance organizational goals.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Strategy:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and target audience.
    • Monitor trends, best practices, and innovations in social media to continuously optimize strategies.
    • Manage and grow the organization’s social media presence on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, etc.
  • Content Creation & Curation:
    • Create, curate, and manage high-quality content, including text, images, and videos, tailored to each platform.
    • Develop content calendars that align with promotional and marketing campaigns.
    • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in style, and optimized for user engagement.
  • Press Releases & Media Relations:
    • Draft and distribute press releases to media outlets to promote key events, campaigns, and milestones.
    • Maintain relationships with media contacts and respond to media inquiries.
  • Monthly Newsletter:
    • Develop and design a monthly digital newsletter to keep supporters, donors, and community members informed of the organization’s latest news, events, and impact stories.
    • Coordinate with various departments to gather content for the newsletter.
  • Donor Communications:
    • Write and manage communications to donors, including thank you letters, impact reports, and updates.
    • Support the development and execution of donor stewardship strategies to engage and retain supporters.
  • Fundraising Campaigns:
    • Collaborate with the CEO to create and execute digital fundraising campaigns, including Giving Days, peer-to-peer fundraising, and crowdfunding initiatives.
    • Develop content for email and social media campaigns that align with fundraising goals.
  • Engagement & Community Management:
    • Actively engage with the online community by responding to comments, messages, and interactions in a timely manner.
    • Cultivate relationships with followers, influencers, and partners to foster positive brand communication.
  • Analytics & Reporting:
    • Monitor, track, and analyze the performance of social media platforms and campaigns using tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or platform-specific analytics.
    • Prepare regular reports on key metrics, offering insights and recommendations for improving performance.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the CEO and other departments to ensure messaging is aligned across all platforms.
    • Visit programs regularly to capture content, engage with clients, and gather impactful stories to share on social media.
    • Gather stories, news, and updates to share via social media and newsletters.
  • Brand Voice & Consistency:
    • Ensure that the organization’s tone and voice are maintained across all platforms, including social media, press releases, and donor communications.
    • Develop and adhere to branding guidelines to ensure consistency in all communications.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, communications, or fundraising.
    • Proven track record of creating and implementing successful social media strategies and fundraising campaigns.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, particularly in drafting press releases, newsletters, and donor communications.
  • Experience with digital fundraising platforms (Salesforce, Givebutter) and email marketing tools.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and data to make informed marketing decisions.
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
