Full Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Recovery Cafe Director to lead our Recovery Cafe program in Wilmington, Delaware. As the Director, you will oversee all aspects of the Recovery Cafe operations, including program development, staff and volunteer management, and compliance with organizational standards. You will play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive, supportive environment that fosters recovery and personal growth for all members. The ideal candidate will embody the Recovery Café Network (RCN) philosophy, promoting peer support, resilience, and a community-based approach to substance use and mental health recovery.

This position may require flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to best serve our members and community.

Requirements

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Recovery Cafe that aligns with the mission and goals of Impact Life.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring that programs are effectively meeting the needs of the community and supporting members' recovery journeys.
  • Maintain positive relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funding sources to maximize resources and support.
  • Lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, offering guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure program compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and best practices in the recovery field.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis, member feedback, and other performance metrics.
  • Facilitate community outreach and engagement strategies to raise awareness of Recovery Cafe services and promote participation.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the Recovery Cafe, advocating for the needs of the community and representing the organization at meetings and events.
  • Possess a strong understanding of addiction recovery, mental health, and community resources.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with members, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in program management, including supervisory experience, preferably in recovery-focused or peer support environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Personal experience with recovery from substance use disorder or lived experience in a related field.
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist or similar credential.
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising.
