Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Technician to join our team in Sussex County, Delaware. The Facilities Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our housing program and resource center facilities, managing our fleet of vehicles, and assisting with client transportation. The ideal candidate must come with their own tools and be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, facilities, and equipment.
- Conduct inspections to identify issues and ensure facilities are in good working order.
- Handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and other general maintenance tasks.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed.
- Assist with facility setup and breakdown for events and programs.
- Drive a manual transmission vehicle for transporting tools and equipment between sites.
- Manage and maintain the organization’s fleet of vehicles, including regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Keep detailed records of vehicle maintenance and ensure all vehicles are safe and in good working condition.
- Coordinate vehicle usage and scheduling to ensure availability for organizational needs.
- Assist with the transportation of clients as needed, ensuring safe and reliable service.
- Be on call for emergencies and provide assistance as required to ensure the safety and functionality of facilities and services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a facilities technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Must own and bring personal tools necessary for the job.
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- Experience in fleet management and vehicle maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Availability to be on call for emergencies and flexibility to assist with client transportation.
