Psychiatric LCSW, Behavioral Health Clinician Geriatric & Adult Psychiatry – Hamden, CT. Our busy mental health practice in Hamden, CT is seeking an energetic and experienced LCSW to join our large and growing interdisciplinary geriatric & adult psychiatric practice. Both full and part time positions are available. Known for our excellent care and expertise, our group provides services in a private practice setting as well as in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. We offer individual, group, and family psychotherapy as well as medication and behavior management. Our LCSW’s work as valued members of our team with supervision of patients from one of our two board certified Psychiatrists, 3 APRNs, 2 LCSW and and 7 support staff take the time to deliver excellent care. Our practice maintains high professional standards and our board certified geriatric psychiatrists provide the training and supervision necessary for you to acquire knowledge in the specialty of geriatric psychiatry. The scope of practice for our LCSW’s includes but is not limited to diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, behavior modification, and mentoring/supervising students. As a Behavioral Health Clinician for Geriatric & Adult Psychiatry you will:· Be responsible for initial mental health evaluations in collaboration with our psychiatrists· Interview patients and their families to coordinate and plan care programs· Provides therapy or counseling to individuals, groups, couples, or families· Utilize a state of the art electronic health record for high quality care· Have the opportunity to supervise MSW students from Yale, SCSU and UCONN.
Expectations/Required Skills· Computer experience, excellent typing skills, knowledge of word processing· Theoretical orientation consistent with brief, problem-focused therapy. Ability to work in a team environment and excellent communication skills· Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals· Connecticut LCSW licensure is required· Minimum of two years of direct clinical practice experience, e.g., hospital setting or alternative care setting such as ambulatory care or outpatient clinic/facility· Be a valued member of the largest community based independent medical practice association in CT. (CMG)
