We're looking for a skilled Proposal Manager to join our high performing R&D team, able to manage our proposal processes to win competitive government and industrial contracts and grants funding new technology development for energy and environmental applications.

The proposal manager plays a crucial role coordinating and managing the process of developing winning proposals as well as participating in other business development activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for research and technology, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines. You will be a key member of PCI’s business development team, working with technologists throughout the company while also working on marketing and other efforts to support company interactions with customers and partners.
Roles and responsibilities
You will report to the Director, Business Development, playing a pivotal role in our growing business through leading and enhancing our government proposal process and win rates. You will lead the development of high-quality proposals by collaborating with cross-functional teams, and other key stakeholders. Additionally, you will provide marketing support which will include website management, development, and creating marketing materials.
Requirements
- BA/BS in engineering or science. Minor/MBA in marketing/business is a plus.
- Proven experience in proposal management, preferably in a similar industry.
- Background in working and interacting with government officials, understanding procurement requirements and federal submissions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with proposal development best practices. APMP or other certification is a plus.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software tools e.g. WordPress, Canva, MailChimp.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Drives for results by being assertive, following up, with proven ability to know how to navigate to the get things done.
- Confident under pressure and can manage it effectively.
