Full Job Description
The Marketing & Communications Specialist drives content strategy, digital storytelling, and brand development at St. Luke’s School (SLS). Responsibilities include creating impactful messaging across platforms, managing social media strategy and growth, overseeing marketing projects, and supporting crisis communications. This full-time, 12-month role reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications. It requires an exceptionally strong writer/editor and proven experience creating engaging social media campaigns.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Communications & Content
- Oversee and work with colleagues on communications from SLS to families several times per week.
- Develop and manage a quarterly content calendar, including emails, social media posts, web stories, and brand reputation initiatives.
- Craft content for varied platforms, including website stories, social media, newsletters, and external media.
- Use performance analytics to track the effectiveness of communications and refine ROI strategies.
- Contribute to Crisis Communications strategy and protocols.
Social Media Management and Growth
- Strategically grow and manage SLS’s social media platforms, develop creative content to drive community and prospective family engagement, and provide oversight to ensure a cohesive brand presence.
- Leverage analytics to identify high-impact content opportunities and adjust strategies to optimize results.
- Stay attuned to trends and emerging platforms to ensure SLS remains at the forefront of digital storytelling.
- Monitor/manage SLS online reputation and maximize opportunities on external sites (e.g., Niche.com)
Project Management
- Oversee the production of marketing materials by collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Manage the department budget processes, including invoice tracking and expenditure reporting.
Key Skills & Qualities
- 5 or more years of experience in Marketing & Communications or related field
- Internal communications & social media strategy experience
- An experienced content creator, coordinator, and strategist
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with a commitment to professionalism
- Builds relationships and culture through effective communication
- Strong cultural competency skills, with a demonstrated commitment to furthering the creation of an equitable and inclusive school community that supports a strong sense of belonging
- Preferred
- Understanding of AI applications for marketing efficiency
- Familiarity with Blackbaud and Hubspot
- Knowledge of crisis communication best practices
- Basic design skills (Canva-type software)
