Responsibilities
- Upholds Galloway’s values and standards by understanding and responding to client needs while providing quality consulting services.
- Perform assignments designed to develop professional working knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria needed to carry out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
- Utilize engineering judgment on work details and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering and water resources alternatives.
- Use prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of a more experienced engineer’s broader assignment.
- Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow procedures through a series of related and detailed steps or processes.
- Assist in the preparation of analyses supporting urban drainage, riverine, irrigation, and other water resources planning and design projects for public and private entities.
- Perform plan drafting using CADD and Civil 3D software.
- Assist in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for private and public works projects.
- Take an active role in new business development by performing quality production work to build strong relationships with existing clients.
- May perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a four-year, board-approved engineering curriculum required. Master of Science in Engineering or a related Water Resources field is preferred.
· Engineering Intern or Engineer-in-Training certification or the ability to obtain such within 6 months of hire.
· Zero to 5-years of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering experience associated with the fields of urban drainage, riverine/floodplain analyses, and other areas of water resources.
· Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic software desirable (e.g. HEC-HMS, SWMM, CUHP, HEC-RAS 1D & 2D, SRH 2D or FLO-2D, AutoCAD, and GIS).
- Possesses a basic understanding of principles, practices, codes, and standards in the field of Water Resources Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of approval and permitting processes for water resource projects.
- Demonstrates basic writing skills for reports and letters.
- Basic understanding of calculations and programs used in analyses and development of water resources systems and reports: including urban drainage, riverine environments, storm sewers, and irrigation systems.
- Possesses knowledge of various disciplines typically involved in water resource studies and projects.
- Understands project schedules and budgets and be able to work efficiently within project guidelines.
- Be able to communicate in a timely and effective manner within team and other disciplines working on a project.
- Demonstrates effective time management skills to complete assigned work.
- Ability to perform in a positive, disciplined, and professional manner within a team environment.
- Ability to multitask and maintain a high-performance level in an accountable environment.
The estimated starting salary pay range for this role is $65,000-$80,000.
