StoneAge is the global leader in designing and manufacturing high-pressure waterblast tooling and automated, IoT-enabled/robotic equipment, based in Durango, CO., with five subsidiaries in four countries. About the Role
The VP of Finance & CFO oversees StoneAge’s global accounting, financial planning and analysis, information technology, and systems functions. Our VP of Finance & CFO will collaborate with the executive team and key departments to develop and execute StoneAge’s financial and operational strategy.
The VP of Finance & CFO must fully embody the StoneAge Leadership Principles. This position reports to StoneAge’s Chief Executive Officer and is part of StoneAge’s shared services organization, which supports the StoneAge family of companies. It is based in Durango, CO. The starting salary for this position is $200k-$240k.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategy and Leadership
· Partners with CEO and Executive Management Team in supporting StoneAge’s strategic plan by providing financial analysis to support informed business decision making.
· Collaborates with Executive Management Team to develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to optimize revenue and control expenses without sacrificing customer service and quality.
· Develops, manages, and positions the Finance and IT teams for business growth and provides continuous mentoring, coaching and real-time feedback.
· Identifies and evaluates investment opportunities and manages process for strategic partnerships. · Works with the Executive Management Team to develop financial plans and short and long-term forecasts
· Fosters a continuous improvement culture that identifies and successfully implements new programs through well-defined goals and planning.
· Acts as collaborator-in-chief understanding that Finance and IT is integral to successful business operations and exemplifies problem solving, teamwork, and accountability. · Collaborates with the VP of People & Culture on people-related programs (benefits, WC, compensation planning, etc.)
· Serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors and supports financial insights to the Board.
· Performs other duties or responsibilities assigned by the CEO.
Finance and Accounting Operations
· Oversee implementation and optimization of financial software systems to streamline accounting processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and improve real-time decision making.
· Ensures adequate internal controls are in place and works with team to develop and optimize policies and procedures.
· Participates in business development efforts and supports partnerships throughout the company.
Financial Analysis and Reporting
· Leads internal and external financial reporting activities ensuring that historical monthly results are accurate and timely and supports budgeting and forecasting activities.
· Improves forecasting capabilities through process improvements to support real-time forecasting updates.
Transactional
· Oversees the capital structure of the company, determining the best mix of debt, equity, and internal financing. Ensures adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs.
· Oversees risk management strategy and business insurance plans.
Fiduciary
· Supports reporting activities and ensures compliance with debt covenants, statutory audits and taxes, benefit plans, and other compliance reporting.
· Develops understanding of Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and supports the financial activities including working with the Trustee and valuation firm. Oversees the annual valuation process
Information Technology
· Identifies opportunities to scale and grow the business through appropriate and cost-effective investments in IT systems and resources
· Synthesizes current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action
· Analyzes how technology can benefit the company or improve an existing business process and will then integrate a system to realize that benefit or improvement. Provide business cases to the CEO when required
· Examines the short and long-term IT and BI needs of StoneAge and utilizes capital to make investments designed to help the organization reach its objectives
· Collaborate with Engineering to ensure alignment with strategy to ensure the scalability and support of internal technology in the support of customer-facing products and interfaces
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- At least 15 years of experience in finance, accounting, and IT management and hold a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. MBA is preferred
- At least 7 years' experience with international business operations and foreign currencies
- Strong team building and management experience
- Extensive experience with ERP systems, preferably implementation experience
- M&A experience in both domestic and foreign locations
- Understanding of private company valuations and valuation process
- Demonstrated successful partnering with People Operations in understanding Organizational Development tools and effectively implementing evolutions to them to attract, retain, and develop talent
- Demonstrated ethical leadership and beliefs with ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and manage with local and remote staff across all levels of the organization.
