General Summary
As Sr. Visual Designer, you will work with the Creative, Marketing & Product/Production teams to design and execute solutions to support their efforts. Your solutions will stem from collaboration, and your visual designs will be intuitive and compelling. Given the mastery of your craft, you will know when to follow best practices and when to veer off and pave your own way. You’re an independent thinker who first asks “why” and loves getting into the weeds of a problem.

You will embed with the Marketing/Production Team, work in close collaboration with Project Managers and Team Leads, and report to creative leadership.
Core Functions
- Creative execution of all Marketing materials, including content image sourcing and manipulation, email campaign design, event collateral, social media campaigns, and branded experiences
- Be an active member of the cross-functional marketing team by ideating, planning, and executing cross-channel marketing campaigns
- Be the visual brand ambassador in regards to maintaining our brand standards, voice and tone
- Express expert knowledge across all phases of design, from initial concept to final asset
- Articulate design rationale and solutions in a compelling manner based on research, data and industry best practices
- Create delightful page layouts and assets using the Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketch
- Mentor and create teaching opportunities to benefit the design function of their cross-functional team
- Lead design thinking sessions and workshops for their cross-functional team
- Author and communicate design guideline information for various audiences

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in email design best practices
- Minimum of 5 years of experience solving design problems
- Advanced understanding of visual design and design principles (Contrast, Balance, Emphasis, Movement, White Space, Proportion, Hierarchy, Repetition, Rhythm, Pattern, Unity, and Variety. These principles of design work together to create something that is aesthetically pleasing and optimizes the user experience)
- Advanced understanding of design fundamentals, (methods) such as concepting, mood boards, wireframes, prototypes and mockups - understands when to implement in the mktg/prod design process
- Execution of visual design fundamentals is the basis for solution delivery and drives collaborative discussions and healthy debate
- Consistently maintains professional and respectful communication, both internally and externally
- Understands and respects differing points of view with patience and empathy
- Practices active listening by paying close attention to what is being said, asking clarifying questions, and responding appropriately
- Ability to take art direction from peers and grow from the collaborative design process.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to accurately scope work and adhere to multiple project timelines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Expert level knowledge in using industry-standard design and layout software tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Figma or Sketch, etc.) with an understanding of how to effectively execute work and utilize and uphold best practices for visual design tools at hand
- Understand the mechanics of production for web, print, apparel, and large scale event visual design
- Examples that reflect your ability to solve a variety of digital and print design challenges.
- The efficacy (design intention/quality/timeline) of the designs and deliverables meet the intended goal. Just in time delivery and iteration
- Ownership/Accountability: You are responsible for the quality of the design and ensuring that it is void of mistakes and is flawless
Desired Qualifications
- Basic understanding of the endurance sports market
- Experience designing for and supporting multimedia efforts (photography, video, animation)
- Understanding of agile marketing principles, values and process and a willingness to further develop in this area
- Training in user-centered design principles and data-driven design strategies for mobile and web applications
- Experience in designing web solutions
- The ability and desire to contribute to the growth of the Design Team by providing guidance and mentorship.

Compensation
Peaksware/TrainingPeaks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $59,105 - $98,508. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
This role is eligible for variable compensation, including bonus.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment that is well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned with adequate ventilation and a noise level that is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
