General Summary

As a Sr. Database Administrator, you will be responsible for all aspects of our data. Data is at the heart of what we do and you will be responsible for performance, management, integrity and security of our data. You will work with our product development teams and principal engineers to create data solutions that allow the teams and customers to scale. You must be flexible and willing to take on whatever responsibilities are needed to enable the company’s offerings.

You will sit directly with the SRE team and will work in close collaboration with Principal Engineers and engineering teams, and report to the Sr. Manager, SRE.

Core Functions 

  • Ownership of database maintenance, security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring.
  • Triage and resolve platform issues, from a database perspective.
  • Work closely with developers to optimize queries and performance.
  • Perform large data migrations while minimizing customer impact.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure standards and best practices are applied for architecting new databases or modifying existing databases.
  • Design, build, and improve the relational and dimensional data modeling.
  • Ethically handle data privacy, including compliance with regulations such as GDPR.
  • Work closely with the Data Analytics team to ensure a seamless flow of information that provides the business with insights for decision-making. 
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive system documentation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in MSSQL and MySQL database administration. 
  • Deep experience with database design, architecture, and optimization.
  • Experience with cloud-native solutions, specifically AWS Relational Database Service (RDS).

Compensation

Peaksware/TrainingPeaks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $94,874 - $158,124. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.

This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment that is well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned with adequate ventilation and a noise level that is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
