We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Supervisor to take charge of our payroll functions. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely payment of payroll expenses and taxes. Supervising our dedicated payroll team and collaborating with professionals from various departments will be key aspects of your role. We are looking for an individual who is analytical, methodical, and experienced in payroll administration. A deep understanding of payroll regulations is crucial. Additionally, we value qualities such as integrity, team spirit, and strong organizational skills. Your ultimate goal will be to maintain compliance, streamline payroll procedures for efficiency, and stay updated with current regulations and best practices. As our Payroll Supervisor, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the financial well-being of our organization and ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. The Payroll Supervisor assists the Accounting Manager and the Controller across the enterprise to provide an accurate and complete payroll on a semi-monthly basis.

 

Duties & Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):

  • Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)
  • Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
  • Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
  • Supervise and coach payroll specialists, accounting assistants
  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
  • Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions

Management of Payroll Specialists:

  • Guide and supervise the overall provision of payroll services, policies, and programs
  • Oversee compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and reporting processes
  • Demonstrate proficiency in payroll policy development, documentation, and implementation
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of direct reports
  • Develop skills, knowledge, and abilities of direct reports
  • Assess performance of direct reports, delivers constructive feedback, delivers praise, and administers rewards and recognition

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Experience): 

  • BS / BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field. Degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required
  • 3+ years of payroll management experience or similar role with direct reports
  • Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
  • Experience in managing and providing career development training for payroll associates
  • Experience in implementing and managing government, financial and tax reporting processes
  • Strong people and process management skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Professional certifications (e.g.CPP, CPM) is a plus
  • Ability to function as a part of a team

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Jamis Prime software
  • Experience with Humanic software

Salary Range: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications (skills, education & experience) and the position level. ($86,000 - $100,600)
