Prescott's, Inc, a leader in the medical device sector specializing in surgical microscopes, is seeking a skilled Optics Technician to join our dedicated team. In this position, you will be responsible for the analyzing, evaluating, and repairing the optical components from the surgical microscopes. Your technical expertise and precision are critical in maintaining the quality and functionality of our optics, which directly impact patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Receives optical orders and locates the optical components for orders.
- Evaluates available optical components for order fulfillment.
- Analyzes optical components for repair visibility and realign using appropriate tools.
- Assemble and calibrate optical systems including lenses, beam splitters, and other components.
- Perform routine inspections and testing of optics to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Diagnose and repair optical issues in microscopes and related devices.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Document repairs and maintenance activities accurately. Evaluate current quality control procedures and propose possible improvements.
- Perform Quality Control on completed optical components from other technicians.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to improve product performance.
- Provides technical support over the phone for customers and company representatives in the field.
- Assist in the inventory management of optical components and materials.
- Participate in ongoing training to keep up with industry advancements and best practices.
Requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred; additional technical training is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in optics assembly and repair or a related field.
- Strong understanding of optical components.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
- Experience with measuring equipment and testing methods for optics, a plus
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally, regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle, feel and transport parts, talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk and reach with their hands and arms.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Flexible to work overtime, as necessary.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
