Prescott's, Inc. is a premier medical device company dedicated to the distribution and refurbishment of multiple types of medical devices including surgical microscopes, pumps, monitors, sterilizers and anesthesia machines.. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Microscope Prep Technician to join our team in Monument, CO. This role is crucial in preparing surgical microscope devices for delivery to end users, ensuring that each unit meets our high standards of quality and performance.
As a Microscope Prep Technician, you will play an essential role in the refurbishment processes, including cleaning, inspecting, and packaging of surgical microscopes and their components. This position involves the repair and refurbishment of surgical microscope components and full systems, such as binoculars, beam splitters, assistant tubes, and various other optical microscope components.
Responsibilities
- Identify surgical microscope systems and parts.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and optical issues with surgical microscopes, optical components and accessories.
- Preparation and refurbishment of surgical microscopes and related equipment include:
- Cleaning
- Repair
- Preparation for painting (Cleaning, masking)
- Painting
- De-prepping
- Preparation for quality control
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of microscopes and their components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Inspect and troubleshoot devices for any mechanical or optical issues.
- Cataloging and organizing inbound microscope components, and accessories.
- Prepare devices for trade shows and customer demonstrations.
- Assist with packing and shipping of microscopes to ensure they are securely delivered.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with receiving of surgical microscopes and components.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Prepare Table Top / Wet Lab for the microscopes.
- Assist with Trade Show preparation.
- Collaborate with the Service and Inventory departments regarding inventory management and accessories
The ideal candidate for this position is someone with a strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- High school or GED
- 0-2 years of related experience in mechanical or optical assembly is preferred, but not essential.
- High school diploma or GED is required; additional technical training is a plus.
- Basic understanding of optical components and surgical microscope systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Good vision is a necessity.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Good manual dexterity and the ability to work with small components.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work overtime if necessary.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
