Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organize the kitchen’s activities. You will be the first in command in the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality and contentment.

Responsibilities

  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
  • Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer
  • Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
  • Arrange for repairs when necessary
  • Remedy any problems or defects
  • Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff
  • Oversee the work of subordinates
  • Estimate staff’s workload and compensations
  • Maintain records of payroll and attendance
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers
  • Lead and supervise the culinary team in all aspects of food preparation and presentation.
  • Curate seasonal menus that showcase a fusion of local and international flavors, with an emphasis on authenticity and innovation.
  • Source and procure high-quality, authentic ingredients from trusted suppliers.
  • Ensure consistency and quality in all dishes served, maintaining the highest standards of taste, presentation, and execution.
  • Oversee kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for enhancing the overall dining experience and maximizing profitability.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of growth, teamwork, and excellence.
  • Manage inventory, budgeting, and cost control measures to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team to address any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and culinary techniques to continuously elevate our offerings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Head Chef
  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
  • Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Knowledge in health and safety training
  • Experience in Culinary science or related certificate
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation in menu development.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
