By 2025, we aim to serve 100,000 LMI households annually, reduce their utility costs by $270 Million and Carbon emission by 1.5 million tons, create 2,000 sustainable jobs, and invest over $100 Million in local communities.

Position Overview: 

The Content Editor will have excellent writing skills and an exceptional understanding of grammar and the English language. They will be interested in learning more about the topics they proofread, and how those topics are discussed by comparable industry players. Further, they will often need to interview or otherwise proactively engage with ICAST subject matter experts to coordinate relevant expertise for editing and writing assignments. They will not use ChatGPT or other generative AI except as a tool to occasionally facilitate research efforts. Any other activity must be preapproved and reviewed by Marketing. 

Requirements

Must Have Qualifications:  

  • 3+ years of experience as a content editor in an agency, corporate, or nonprofit environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, communications, writing, or associated field  
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), Adobe Acrobat 
  • Must be computer literate with the ability to markup changes in Adobe Acrobat tools as well as work in word documents.  
  • Proven experience producing error-free content  
  • Able to juggle multiple projects at once and work with many writers at once 
  • Deadline-focused  
  • Clean Energy knowledge 

Location: Remote in the U.S.A. 

Reports to: Director of Marketing. 

Skill Level: Intermediate 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, writing, or an associated field. 

Areas of Expertise: Marketing, Communications, Writing,   

Compensation: $55K DOE 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Proofread content and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors 
  • Formatting documents to make them more readable, and keeping the text's consistency 
  • Verify factual correctness of the content, such as dates and statistics, captions and illustrations, and raise queries with the author 
  • Check the content for style, readability, and adherence to editorial policies and style guides 
  • Help restructure content to create better flow and clarity for audiences and ensure that tone and voice in writing match ICAST branding 
  • Work closely with graphic artists, suggesting changes to enhance content' readability, conciseness, and style 
  • Arrange page layouts of images, content, and photos 
  • Assist in the development of new writing and content.  
  • Lead efforts on the development of case studies, blog posts, newsletter articles, presentation summaries etc. from existing content.

  • Gradually grow into developing original content.
