Position Summary:

GOLFTEC is a growing company with over 900 employees at over 180 Corporate locations across 32 states, and we are looking for an experienced Director of Payroll to join our team. The Director of Payroll will direct and manage the payroll operations of our entire organization. This role will provide strategic direction for payroll-related projects and building collaborative relationships with managers across the institution, working under Finance & Accounting while collaborating frequently with HR and Operations. This position will provide oversight to ensure accurate processing and recording of the company's payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, daily data entry and perform related work as required. Experience and a passion for golf are a strong positive.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a multi-state payroll process on a semi-monthly basis, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness
  • Lead and mentor a team of payroll professionals, fostering growth and excellence
  • Review and authorize payroll transactions, adjustments, and deductions.
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee records (including new hire input and tax profiles)
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies by conducting regular audits and implementing effective controls
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements updates to processes and systems
  • Assist with the training of supervisors/managers in time and attendance systems
  • Co-manages relationships with HCM partner to ensure resolution of issues and systems advancements
  • Assist in year-end payroll processes, including generating W-2s, reconciling payroll data, and preparing necessary reports.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors as necessary
  • Assist Franchise owners with payroll related questions

 

Qualifications:

  • Due to the importance of this role, ability to commute to our HQ in Englewood, CO is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 10 years of payroll administration experience with 3 or more years in a managerial capacity
  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification is preferred
  • Familiarity with a variety of HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom, UKG, Workday, Ceridian) required
  • Previous HRIS implementation experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate closely with other teams while also capable of working independently
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate calculations and data integrity
