Position Summary:

GOLFTEC is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our multi-disciplined and talented engineering team overseeing software, hardware, and data engineering activities for one of the most innovative companies in the golf industry. The Director will be responsible for managing the people, processes, and tools necessary to provide adequate resources for successful technical project execution. Working closely with project managers, the Director will ensure alignment with company objectives and deliver high-quality engineering solutions within specified timelines and budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer vision, machine learning, and software engineering, with proven experience managing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire engineering talent and staff effective project teams in collaboration with project managers.
  • Manage a talented and multi-disciplined software development team of 60 offshore engineers.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure project teams have the necessary skills, tools, and support to meet project requirements.
  • Measure team performance and conduct performance reviews.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality solutions, ensuring compliance with technical standards and best practices.
  • Review and analyze customer specifications to determine customer requirements. Break down customer requirements into actionable design tasks that align with product functionality. Establish measurable criteria that the design must meet to satisfy each requirement.
  • Conduct design reviews and generate thorough design documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues and obstacles to minimize disruptions to project timelines and budgets.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and product teams to drive project success and support business growth.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project execution effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices to continuously improve engineering execution.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience managing a muti-disciplined team including a variety of software languages and platforms (Java, PHP, iOS, Android, ReactJS, React Native, Magento, C++, C#).
  • Experience with mobile app development for iOS and Android.
  • Experience with E-Commerce and Point-of-Sale development including PCI compliance.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, CI/DC) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana) is preferred.
  • Ability to design and architect complex systems while considering scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Experience in creating architectural diagrams, such as UML diagrams, to communicate design decisions effectively.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role overseeing hardware and/or software development projects in a technology-driven environment.
