Requirements
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy treatments in accordance with established protocols and policies.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications during and after chemotherapy administration.
- Assess patient's physical and emotional status, and provide appropriate nursing interventions and support.
- Monitor and manage chemotherapy drug inventory and ensure proper storage and handling.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately and timely.
- Provide patient and family education regarding chemotherapy treatments, side effects, and self-care measures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in chemotherapy administration.
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS certification) preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of oncology nursing principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate patient needs and departmental demands.
