Compensation Range: $110,000 - $130,000

Position Summary:

GOLFTEC is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller, reporting directly to the Controller, to assume a leadership opportunity within our Accounting Department. The Assistant Controller will lead a team of approximately 8 accounting professionals overseeing the financial statements, managing accounting operations, and ensuring SOX compliance.

 

A successful candidate is willing to be actively involved with the team and will use a hands-on-style to lead all month end close activities & audits, build upon existing policies & controls, and spearhead ways to improve the financial reporting and consolidation processes.  They will also play a key role in variance analysis preparation and reviews with the FP&A team while collaborating with the Controller, SVP of Finance and Accounting, and leadership teams across GOLFTEC.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Controller in leading the accounting team and ensuring consistent implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures in full compliance with US GAAP.
  • Review key workpapers and journal entries as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures to ensure the accounting records are complete and accurate.
  • Ensure timely & accurate close within an 8-business daytime frame.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership, development, and mentorship that leads to the growth of accounting team.
  • Partner with leadership to develop a roadmap for enhancing financial reporting, reporting analytics, systems administration processes and SOX controls. 
  • Develop, implement, and distribute comprehensive monthly reporting packages for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvements and seek ways to automate financial systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function.
  • Work with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure that requests are delivered timely and accurately, and deadlines are met.
  • Build effective working relationships and collaborate with other members of the finance team and key stakeholders in the business to ensure objectives are met.
  • Leads via example by jumping in to help the team through challenging situations.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic, drive, and adaptability in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Embraces personal leadership development, with an openness to stretch and pursue leadership range and flexibility. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of accounting professionals
  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4/large public accounting and/or publicly traded companies experience preferred, not required
  • Familiarity with robust ERP & reporting software (Adaptive, NetSuite, Oracle, Planful, etc)
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a high level of organization
  • Effective at multitasking and prioritization to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
