Full Job Description
FHU is seeking a mid-level Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) engineer to advance FHU’s capabilities in the design of advanced mobility solutions. The Advanced Mobility Engineer IV must have demonstrated success at planning, designing, and implementing ITS infrastructure, and in marketing our services to state, regional and municipal clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop ITS concepts and solutions for transportation-related projects
- Lead design of data networks, including fiber/wireless/hybrid communication networks
- Manage project schedules and budgets
- Prepare technical specifications, contract documents and estimates
- Develop ITS architecture standards
- Lead and delegate work tasks to multi-discipline project staff
- Supervise work efforts and provide quality control checks
- Write reports, deliver presentations, and communicate concepts and deliverables to clients
- Participate in strategic planning for development and marketing of ITS and Advanced Mobility services
- Provide mentoring and guidance to staff regarding technical components of ITS
- Participate in regular staff meetings and project coordination meetings
- Expertise in systems engineering is preferred
- Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/transportation engineering, electrical engineering, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university preferred
- 6 years minimum experience desired including, but not limited to, ITS engineering, transportation planning/engineering, data science, software development, and computer networking
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Professional Engineer license and accredited fiber optic certifications preferred.
The pay for this position has a range of $88,000 - $113,000 annually. The actual offer will carefully consider a range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
