General Summary

As A/R Collections Specialist, you will collect past-due receivable balances, apply payments to customer accounts and reconcile accounts according to company policy and practices.

You will sit directly with the accounting team, work in close collaboration with accounting, sales and customer service, and report to the Accounting Manager.

Core Functions

  • Monitor and maintain a high volume of customer accounts.
  • Communicate with customers regarding past due balances and payment questions.
  • Ensure accurate customer account balances and reconcile account discrepancies.
  • Research overpayments and credit memos for application.
  • Charge customer credit cards.
  • Assist in tracking, researching, reconciling and communicating customer chargebacks.
  • Assist A/R Specialist with customer billing.
  • Process daily receipts ensuring prompt and accurate posting of payments to customer accounts; credit card, checks, lockbox, ACH, and wire payments.
  • Special projects as assigned by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years previous experience specific to collections and cash applications and/or general accounts receivable
  • Technically savvy with systems in general and comfortable with switching between multiple financial systems; prior experience using NetSuite preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate nuances of multiple subsidiaries
  • Empathetic approach to troubleshooting and customer service
  • Quick learner, willing to take initiative, and has great follow through
  • Strong listening skills and analytic abilities
  • Passion for applied learning in a fast paced environment
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills who thrives in a team-oriented work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets

Compensation

Peaksware is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The hourly range for this role in Colorado is $16.13 - $26.89/hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.

This role is eligible for variable compensation, including bonus.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment that is well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned with adequate ventilation and a noise level that is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
