VP of Engineering - Machine Learning & AI

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and strategic direction for machine learning and AI engineering at WerQ AI.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire multiple engineering teams, fostering an environment of innovation and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with product leadership and stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business objectives and user needs.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable machine learning models and AI solutions.
• Drive best practices in engineering processes, ensuring the highest quality in code, architecture, and deployment.
• Develop and manage relationships with external partners, academic institutions, and technology vendors.
• Actively participate in industry conferences, publications, and forums to represent WerQ AI's thought leadership in AI and machine learning.
• Ensure compliance with ethical AI practices and governance in all engineering projects.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering and AI/machine learning, with significant leadership experience in an executive role.
• Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale AI initiatives and engineering teams.
• Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and strong coding skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Deep understanding of AI technologies, data science, and best practices in model deployment and scalability.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and a strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
• A passion for advancing AI and machine learning technologies and a commitment to ethical practices in technology development.
