Virtual Construction Modeler II

We have a current opening for a Virtual Construction Manager in Sacramento, CA.
Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:
Workforce Management & Leadership:
- Coaches modelers and detailers for successful accomplishment of their Key Results, by assessing their existing skill sets, identifying areas for coaching/training and providing feedback.
- Leads by example. Maintains a positive attitude towards the work, the team, the projects, and the company.
- Promotes and exemplifies company culture and linking values.
- Coordinates and hires manpower based on workload and schedule.
- Ensure modelers and detailers understand the client’s and field operation’s needs, objectives, and challenges on projects and work for their success along with others.
Workload & Project Management:
- Works together with Project Managers and Superintendents to identify project scope for VC and develop a revised budget for the work.
- Flag and document VC scope of work changes based on field requests, client requests, design changes and communicate them to Project Mangers for updating budgeted hours.
- Develops and communicates internal VC schedule based on project build schedule and client’s VDC schedule.
- Identifies and communicates to Superintendents and Project Managers need by dates for key information and files required to produce models and drawings.
- Communicates with project team and client to eliminate any impacts to department’s productivity caused by client, field operations, design changes, etc.
- Reviews productivity goals with VC2s and Detailers and ensure Monday.com schedules align with project timelines.
- Addresses progress of the work, quality of the work, and housekeeping issues with the team.
- Tracks timelines and progress towards deliverables for reporting to project teams.
- Track billed hours by project and drawing code for cost analysis.
Constant Improvement:
- Updates historical database with final billed hours from completed projects for creation of production rates.
- Gathers, records, and implements feedback on models and drawings.
- Creates and implements standards for department work product (ie. Drawing codes, drafting conventions, etc.)
- Updates department workflows and SOPs based on latest best practices.
- Researches and shares trends in electrical fabrication design.
Relationships & Business Development:
- Schedules job walks and builds relationships between field management and department staff that promotes a collaborative approach to project planning.
- Provide feedback to Estimating with regard to client’s actual VDC requirements and revised estimated hours for the work.
- Works with Estimating and Marketing on prequalification documents.
- Represents company’s VDC expertise at project interview and potential client meet & greets.
Requirements
- 7+ Years of experience working in BIM environment
- Proficiency the latest versions of Autodesk Revit.
- Working knowledge of BIM 360, Navisworks, Trimble, Bluebeam, AutoCAD.
- Ability to create simple parametric families, understand and work with complex families, based on project needs required
- Ability to create and manipulate schedules for creating take offs, BOM’s, and cut lists.
- Ability to read and understand drawings from multiple disciplines and identify potential flaws or risks
- Ability to trouble shoot minor software issues independently
- Must be detail oriented and well organized
- Ability to effectively communicate across multi-level teams and client types
Salary Range
- $90,000/year - $120,000/year
- This is an exempt position
