We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Verification Specialist II to join our dynamic team. As a Verification Specialist II, you will play a pivotal role in conducting various verification processes, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations. This role involves overseeing education verifications, drug and alcohol screenings, pre-adverse and adverse actions, and providing exceptional customer service support.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all duties are carried out professionally and with the top priority of helping candidates secure employment opportunities.
- Conduct thorough and efficient research to verify the accuracy of information provided by candidates, ensuring that the screening process progresses smoothly and within designated timelines.
- Process background reports in strict adherence to current reporting guidelines and industry standards, maintaining integrity and confidentiality throughout.
- Conduct drug and alcohol screenings as part of the verification process.
- Provide prompt follow-up and follow-through on all requests, reports, and escalations, ensuring that no task is left unresolved or overlooked.
- Adhere to prescribed scripts and guided call paths within the software platform to ensure consistency and efficiency in communication with candidates and colleagues.
- Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of all current guidelines and regulations relevant to the screening process.
- Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of all reports, meeting or exceeding established turnaround times.
- Communicate with candidates and peers with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism, fostering positive relationships and a supportive work environment.
- Cultivate a mindset of continuous improvement, actively seeking opportunities to enhance processes and procedures for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Remain open to cross-training in other functions outside of immediate responsibilities, contributing to a flexible and adaptable team dynamic.
- Collaborate with team members to meet and exceed customer expectations, always providing exceptional service and support.
- May participate in mentoring, training, and coaching of new team members within the immediate team, contributing to their professional development and success.
- Track and report results in accordance with company guidelines and policies, ensuring transparency and accountability in all activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in conducting verification processes and ensuring compliance, preferably in the background screening industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive work environment and effectively communicate with team members, management, and clients.
- Ability to maintain composure and handle disputes and escalated customer issues with professionalism.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Bilingual proficiency is advantageous.
- Analytical thinking skills to evaluate, resolve, or escalate client requests/issues as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization (internally and externally).
- Team player mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
