Venture Builder

We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial self-starter to join our group and help us build a new startup, currently in stealth.

You will work closely with our team to help launch and scale the business; and will be responsible for executing on the plan and eventually, the day-to-day operations. Our ambition is to build a leading business in its sector and for you to play a key role in helping us get there.

You will be involved in all matters relating to the startup, including:

• Assist with the initial work in setting up the business, including finalising the development of the brand, website and marketing collateral design, through to sourcing initial dealflow
• Assist with finalising the initial customer product-set and underwriting criteria and processes
• Work with our legal and compliance advisors with regards to obtaining the required licences for the business [work already started]
• Assist with developing strong relationships with our key borrowers, introducers and advisors, and across the sector
• Build the team: Hire an outstanding team of experienced professionals, including business development managers, credit underwriters, analysts and case managers
• Portfolio management and reporting: Actively monitor the portfolio to understand the ongoing performance and risk; identify trends and opportunities; and oversee the reporting on the business and loan portfolio
• Over time, develop best in class internal practices across the business, from loan sales and origination, through to underwriting, processing and servicing

As with all startups, in the early days it will require ‘rolling up your sleeves’ and doing a wide range of different tasks; and then, as the business gets going, it will be a matter of hiring an exceptional team for you to help manage as the business scales.

Requirements

If you’re the ideal person for this journey, you will be someone who can show that you:

• have the potential to be a dynamic and entrepreneurial operator
• have experience with successfully managing people and building a team(s)
• are a team player with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• are able to operate at both a strategic level and hands on in the detail
• have experience using the latest cloud based business efficiency platforms such as Google Business Apps, Notion, Slack, Quickbooks etc
• operate with absolute integrity and are a first class professional
• are a self-starter, that has a 'can do' attitude with common sense and a strong work ethic

In a perfect world, you will also:

• have experience in financial services, ideally either working in a fintech or lending company. Experience in the relevant sector would definitely be an advantage. If you’re interested in the role, please reach out and we can be more specific.
