Unreal Engine Visual Effects Artist

We are in search of an experienced Senior Unreal Engine Visual Effects Artist to join our dynamic team. You will be tasked with leading the creation and implementation of spectacular real-time visual effects, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in Unreal Engine.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, creation, and implementation of real-time visual effects using Unreal Engine, ensuring their alignment with the artistic vision and technical requirements of the project
• Collaborate closely with art directors, game designers, and developers to create effects that enhance both the aesthetic and interactive elements of the game
• Optimise visual effects to ensure they meet performance requirements, whilst maintaining high visual quality
• Provide creative leadership, mentorship, and support to other visual effects artists on the team
• Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in visual effects technology, and share this knowledge with the team
• Continuously iterate on effects in response to feedback from playtests and team reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience as a visual effects artist in the gaming industry, with extensive experience in Unreal Engine
• Proficient in using Unreal Engine, Unreal Particle Editor, and other visual effects creation tools
• Deep understanding of 3D graphics, particle systems, physics, and shaders
• Exceptional artistic abilities, with a keen eye for aesthetics and detail, and a strong portfolio showcasing your visual effects work
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to work as part of a team
• Comfortable providing mentorship and feedback to junior team members
• Quick to adapt to new techniques and technologies
