Full Job Description

Sigma Defense is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Unity Developer.

As a Unity Developer, you will take a role in developing complex game logic for AR/VR and mixed reality systems that will aid Navy sailors in improving their situational readiness through high fidelity training scenarios. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining engaging simulations in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, you will play a key role in creating interactive training tools that will enhance the overall preparedness and effectiveness of our military members.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience with Unity, 3D, and C#.
  • Experience designing and implementing Virtual and/or Augmented Reality applications in Unity for Meta Quest, HoloLens or equivalent headsets.
  • Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using C# within the Unity framework.
  • Good troubleshooting skills with knowledge of identifying bottlenecks.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles.

Candidate Differentiators:

  • Prior experience with DoD projects specifically VR simulation training for the Navy, best if they live in or near San Diego, willing to conduct on-site visits with customer when needed but this is mostly a remote position.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess an active, DoD-issued Secret security clearance.
  • A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, game development, or similar field of study.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to support high-fidelity, team-based Naval training simulations.
  • Exceute best practices for Unity game development and stay up-to-date on relevant industry trends.
  • Execute best practices for AR/VR SDKs like MRTK, OpenXR or equivalent.
  • Support new features with multiplayer networking using Photon Engine.
  • Implement gameplay functionality and mechanics including user interface, gameplay logic, and session management.
  • Integrate 3D assets and animations into Unity application.
  • Design and maintain optimal database schemas.
  • Write and verify Unity test cases using a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Containerize relevant web services to support use case including hosting and sending multimedia content and data analytics.
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,00 annually.
