Full Job Description
The mission of SOAP MAT, LLC is to provide a high quality outpatient opiate treatment program (OTP) that promotes health and well-being to an underserved opiate dependent population. The objective of the program will be to provide affordable, medically assisted treatment (MAT) utilizing the harm reduction model, focusing on each patient as an individual. The goal of treatment will therefore be to enable the community to function at a higher level, yielding a decrease in crime rates, high risk behaviors and deaths. To that end, SOAP MAT, LLC will promote sobriety, as evidenced by an absence of abusing illicit opioids.

Reports to: Clinical Supervisor
Job Purpose: The counselor will provide a minimum of 120 hours per month of direct counseling and case management services to patients that will consist of individual, group, family and educational services, including assessment, individualized treatment plans, counseling and aftercare services. The counselor will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing patient records regularly for high quality of care.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of current patient progress notes and ongoing reports.
- Completion notices to the patient, courts, probation/parole departments and referral sources.
- Maintains accurate and current patient records, regularly reviewing patient progress and/ or lack thereof.
- Ensures that every effort is made to assist the patient in reaching his/her treatment goals.
- Cooperate with local agencies and organizations.
- Is familiar with all aspects of the clinic’s operations.
- Participates in trainings and education as it relates to his or her role as counselor at the clinic.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the clinical supervisor.
Requirements
- Be certified and/or registered with an accrediting/certifying body in the state of California.
- Have training and/or experience in treating chemical dependency patients in an outpatient program.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in treating chemically dependent patients.
- Able to work with high risk patients.
- Has knowledge and understanding of cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing harm reduction model, medically assisted treatment (MAT), as well as opiate addiction.
- Experience working with patients in an outpatient setting.
- Possess managerial skills.
- Able to manage a 50:1, patient to counselor.
- Adhere to state and federal regulations and accreditation agency standards pertaining to outpatient treatment.
- Conduct self ethically and professionally at all times.
- Has knowledge of and is culturally sensitive to the problems of the patients of this clinic.
- Demonstrable history of no alcohol or drug/medication misuse for a period of five (5) years prior to employment.
- Perspective individual will not display any evidence of alcohol or drug/medication misuse and/or unlawful behavior as an employee of SOAP MAT, LLC.
Benefits
SOAP MAT offers competitive hourly pay from $25-$30/hour.
M-F 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
