Full Job Description

Direct Counsel is seeking a Toxic Tort Attorney for a full-service and leading defense litigation law firm located in San Francisco, Ca. The firm has more than 1100 attorneys, across 44 offices across the United States. They rank among the top 200 law firms identified by The American Lawyer.

The Toxic Tort litigator would defend a set of asbestos and talc matters. This attorney would be a leader in implementing the client’s defense strategies, mentoring and supervising associates and paralegals, reporting in writing and live to the client, and appearing at hearings and depositions, among other projects.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of California
  • 3+ years of toxic tort litigation experience
  • Asbestos, talc, diacetyl, benzene, or related toxic tort experience required
  • 2nd chair trial experience a plus
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Legal project management experience is helpful

 

Responsibilities

  • Take a leading role on a dynamic and growing litigation team
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end
  • Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects
  • Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports

The annualized salary range for this position is $155,000 to $215,000
