WHAT WE DO

We are a full-service creative digital agency. Our people, technology and insights help global media and entertainment, sports and lifestyle brands create, manage, localise, distribute and place their content, and evaluate its media reach.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

We are seeking a Technical Operator to be responsible for training, mentoring and supporting the Technical Operations team in LA. The team is currently two but we are looking to grow the department in the coming months.

The Technical Operator will cover localization of TV spots, film trailers and social media content including graphics insertion, subtitling, dubbed audio layback and encoding of files for international broadcast and online distribution.You may also have the opportunity for creative work in the future as we continue to acquire new business.

THE ROLE

This role will be the main point of contact for our LA operations territory. The Technical Operator must also be confident in communicating with both internal and external stakeholders, overseeing large volumes of projects and managing the team.

    • Managing a small team based full time at our new Culver City office
    • Efficiently train, mentor and support the technical operations team
    • Schedule projects and be responsible for efficient workflows but also to advise  "best in practice" process from Industry
    • Finalising localised content for international distribution (graphics insertion, subtitling, dubbed audio layback)
    • Understand the process of encoding and transcoding files according to various broadcast and online formats
    • Overseeing and also producing output in line with specific film and tv technical standard
    • Responsible for and actively editing TV spot cutdowns, social media and promo content
    • Uploading/downloading projects via various bespoke digital asset management platforms
    • Sound knowledge of Frame rate conversions and TV spot cutdowns is also needed with the ability to jump in and be "hands on" when needed to complete projects
    • Working closely with our UK  technical teams, client services team and our clients.
    • A strong work ethic. Someone who takes pride in the quality of their work, finishing projects with accurate outputs and meeting deadlines.
    • Understands when it is appropriate to convey a message via email and when it is more appropriate to speak to someone in person.
    • The ability to quickly assimilate new instructions and to be able to retain that knowledge to be applied in future.
    • Collegiate and helpful and forms strong working relationships with their colleagues
    • Is proactive in helping ensure the LA team deliver, will always come forward to go that extra mile.

Requirements

  • Have experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder and Audition.
  • A solid knowledge of digital video file format and encoding/transcoding software.
  • Experience of working with online and broadcast video formats.
