Full Job Description

As a member of Coastal Medical Group NorCal team, the Surgery Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling of surgeries and procedures (injections) for patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions. This includes working closely with patients, healthcare providers, and other surgery scheduling team members to ensure that surgeries are scheduled in a timely and efficient manner, and that all necessary preparations are in place. The Surgery Scheduling Coordinator will also be responsible for managing patient files and providing support to patients and families throughout the scheduling process.

Duties and Responsibilities: ·      

  • Coordinate the scheduling of surgeries for patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions, including communicating with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members
  • Manage patient files and track the progress of surgery scheduling
  • Provide support to patients and families, including answering questions, providing information and resources, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of surgery scheduling and progress
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient scheduling of surgeries
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure that all necessary preparations are in place for surgeries
  • Assist with pre-surgery and post-surgery patient education and support
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Ability to use MS Office programs, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other computer programs.
  • Effectively interact with people and develop positive relationships while being tactful, respectful, and direct in communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and handle a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

·       Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or related field preferred not a MUST

·       Experience in patient scheduling or a related role
