About the Role
Steer is looking for an intern who will help support our Transportation Demand Management (TDM) team, working from home and in our Burbank, Glendale, Santa Monica and/or Downtown Los Angeles offices.
The intern’s primary roles will be to support our Transportation Management Organization (TMO) projects in the Los Angeles Region (Burbank TMO and Glendale TMO), each of which support and advocate for multimodal travel. The intern may also have the opportunity to spend additional time with the Company on other transportation planning-related projects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Representing the TMOs at community events (online and/or in person).
- Acting as a liaison with TMO members and stakeholders.
- Designing email marketing and social media campaigns.
- Supporting membership growth among local employers and property managers.
- Supporting and advocating for transportation projects in Burbank and Glendale.
- Coordinating administrative activities such as bus pass orders, vanpool incentive programs and general office management.
- Assisting with reviewing e-bike voucher applications, research, and analysis.
- Providing assistance with other projects, such as marketing design, mapping, report writing and data analysis, as needed.
The successful candidate will be well organized and have a passion and interest in transportation and outreach as well as the ability to speak well, write well, interact easily with the public, support our administrative functions, and provide leadership on email communication and social media campaigns.
Work Life Balance
All Steer employees seeking a part-time opportunity are encouraged to spend 60% of their time in office. A part-time employee’s typical work week consists of up to 16 hours. Hours, expectations, and exemption status will be adjusted for any applicant. Hours, expectations, and exemption status will be determined for any applicant seeking a part-time opportunity.
Compensation
The hourly rate for Los Angeles office applicants is $20.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt position and qualifies for over-time pay at 1.5Xs the hourly rate after having physically worked over 40 hours.
Do be advised that this is an estimated benchmark hourly wage of good faith for the State of California. All compensation, regardless of location, may be subject to change as skills, abilities, internal equity, and geographic location are taken into account.
In addition to base wage, all employees will be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus, prorated to their contracted hours. Please review the benefits section for more information on total reward.
Steer reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional compensation.
