Staff Test Engineer

The Staff Test Engineer role is a key position with responsibility for defining and executing test procedures for the purpose of validating and improving product behavior and reliability. This role encompasses feature validation, bug fix verification, identifying, reporting and potentially triaging problems, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance, mentoring, training within the team and support across the product development organization
• Provide realistic estimates, foster a culture of transparency, and meet agreed upon commitments
• Contribute to the creation, definition and improvement of software test, test automation, OEM acceptance documentation and procedures, and QA
• , potentially to a cross-functional audience.
• Actively participate, engage, and contribute during meetings
• Contribute to the creation and improvement of tools, features, packaging, testing, test automation and continuous integration, delivery, and documentation
• Execute software test procedures, and report, document and potentially triage problems.
• Perform feature validation, assist with bug recreation, and bug fix verification
• Assist in the construction, setup, and configuration of test racks
• Assist in the setup and configuration of networks and other test equipment
• Lead test projects and provide mentoring and leadership to other test engineers
• Perform other job-related duties and training as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
• 9+ years of experience working in a similar role
• Automation framework design experience
• Knowledge and experience in defining and executing software test procedures
• Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting, reporting and documenting software problems
• Knowledge and experience of test automation software development and deployment
• Python programming language knowledge and experience
• IFE, Avionics, audio/video, storage and/or networking experience preferred

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $112,000 to $144,000 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
