Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of intricate opto-mechanical and electromechanical systems from concept to detailed design, using AutoCAD Rel 14, Solid Edge, or similar Solid Modeler programs.
  • Undertake thorough material research and selection, focusing on suitability for opto-mechanical applications.
  • Execute specialized thermal and optical analyses to refine the performance of laser systems and subsystems.
  • Innovate tooling designs to streamline the manufacturing of complex laser assemblies, adhering to project timelines and goals.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation, ensuring detailed records of drawings, changes, and instructions are kept.
  • Continually assess and enhance existing designs, elevating our opto-mechanical products to new standards of safety and performance.
  • Provide indispensable technical support to Engineering and Production, solving opto-mechanical design challenges.

Requirements

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field, with at least eight years of experience in opto-mechanical design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Rel 14 and Solid Edge or equivalent Solid Modeler programs, with a preference for Solid Edge experience.
  • A solid grasp of approved drafting practices, including ANSI, MIL-100, and geometric tolerances, is essential.
  • Ability to define tolerances for manufacturing parts to ensure compatibility with design requirements.
  • Skilled in designing detailed parts and subsystems based on engineering sketches, demonstrating exemplary drafting practices.
