**This is not a Remote Position**

The  Senior Electrical Estimator will prepare estimates for the Electrical components of assigned projects using ACCUBID software to simulate the construction process and evaluate the costs of design choices. The Estimator may often consult databases and their own records to compare costs of similar projects and may be expected to provide subject matter expertise to leadership, peers, and junior personnel. A Senior Estimators’ work product may include cost identification of elements such as raw materials and labor as well as a timeline for project completion.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

  •  Function as a subject matter expert in knowledge of Mark III Construction’s estimating system including ACCUBID and all M3 computer programs, manuals, and forms.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings in detail and attend/lead pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate including conceptual estimating to ensure quality control, accuracy, and compliance of the estimated costs.
  • Develop and provide complete, accurate and timely detailed estimates representing a projects’ Electrical system, costs, associated general conditions, required overhead and profit.
  • Perform quantity take-off of Electrical materials for plan/spec and design build projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for quotes and specification compliance.
  • Maintain all files of working bid documents, notes, and assumptions of project estimates.
  • Perform layout of electrical systems as required to provide a complete system for estimating purposes when the documents are not complete.
  • Define productivity requirements for the uniqueness of each project and adjust the estimate accordingly.
  • Develop conceptual budget estimates from system narratives and/or system sketches
  • Function as a mentor and a leader to junior personnel.
  • Design electrical service systems for projects including building and pre-construction services.
  • Manage design from conception to approved permit
  • Perform other related duties as assigned including change order preparation for the operations group as  may be requested.
  • Develop Design requirements for electrical systems on Design/Build projects to prepare Design/Build estimates.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability in performing the estimating process support for plan/spec; design assist and design build delivery methods.
  • Expert Level knowledge in structuring the estimate and set up models to support the unique project RFP language defining costs components.
  • Subject matter level abilities to read architectural, structural, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm and mechanical plans and be familiar with a variety of Electrical systems and terminology.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products and computer trends/technology.
  • Strong mathematical skills and above average skills with Bluebeam software package.
  • Proven ability to be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Demonstrable strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with engineers, vendors, customers, field personnel, sales, and office staff.
  • Excellent and proven verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and people skills.
  • Demonstrated elevated level of self-motivation and urgency in timely completion of assignments.
  • Advocates for pride of workmanship; accepts responsibility for his/her professionalism and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere and cross functionally across the organization.

Education and Experience:

  • Five years of experience in Electrical estimating on Commercial/Industrial/E-Commerce & Higher Education projects.
  • Specific knowledge and experience with Estimating Software systems is required. Specific experience with       Accubid software is a mandatory requirement; at least 5 years is required.
  • Five years of related mechanical/HVAC estimating interface experience.
  • Previous experience as an electrical trainee, apprentice, journeyman is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the N.E.C. and local electrical codes.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or 5+ years in an electrical Design/Build Department is highly preferred.

  

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Attend construction site walks, climb ladders, walk on roofs.

Salary Range: $140,000 to $180,000 DOE
