We are looking for a Sourcing Manager to strengthen the Oura Supply Chain team in San Diego. This is an essential role between Oura supplier base, R&D, and contract manufacturers producing and delivering world-class Oura products to our customers.

As a Sourcing Manager you have end-to-end responsibility to manage supplier base in defined sourcing category including technology, quality, supply and cost aspects and act as Oura’s main contact towards supply base on his/her responsibility area.  Since we are in the initial stages of building a local Sourcing team, the ideal candidate will also have experience with materials program management.

What you will do: 

  • Working as a key member of the sourcing team, with focus on defined Sourcing Category Management & complex supply chain projects
  • Development and implementation of sourcing category strategies and initiatives considering factors such as business requirements, quality, cost, lead times, and supplier capabilities
  • Identifying evaluating, onboarding and contracting new suppliers that can provide access for the most competitive technologies required for Oura products
  • Conducting regular supplier performance evaluations and audits to assess quality, delivery, and overall supplier capabilities and performance
  • Negotiating agreements with suppliers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier information, pricing, contracts, and performance metrics in agreed company systems
  • Collaboration with engineering teams to define and communicate technical specifications and requirements to suppliers
  • Working closely with R&D and Operations to ensure the availability of mechanical components and materials to meet prototyping and production schedules
  • Make purchase orders for prototyping, and, when required, to mass production. Closing of liability agreements with suppliers
  • Managing materials and components availability for prototyping and production, including Purchase orders and purchase budgeting
  • Manage Oura strategic part & component purchasing & Inventory management (min-max)
  • Coordinate BOM related information flows between Sourcing, program and Manufacturing partners
  • Participation in the continuous development of Oura sourcing working practices

This is a full time position based out of our San Diego office.

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, with engineering experience being an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of technologies, materials, manufacturing and assemblies in his/her responsibility area
  • Extensive and established global industry network of suppliers and professionals
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies, scouting the right partners, conducting supplier evaluations, and negotiating contracts
  • Proficiency in using sourcing and procurement software and tools
  • Systematic and disciplined behavior, ability to see the big picture while paying attention for details
  • Ability to work independently within given tasks and responsibility areas
  • Willingness to travel as required by Oura business to supplier and manufacturing sites, domestic and international
  • A team player, with a focus on continuous improvement who makes people around them better

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
