Requirements

Key Responsibilities Include:

    1. Scrum Master Leadership
      • Act as a Scrum Master, facilitating Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming) to ensure efficient sprint execution.
      • Remove team blockers and ensure alignment with Agile principles for delivering high-quality data solutions.
    2. Team Leadership and Management
      • Lead and mentor a cross-functional and offshore team of developers, data engineers, and analysts.
      • Foster a collaborative environment and ensure team alignment with project goals.
    3. Technical Oversight
      • Oversee development of ETL pipelines, data governance frameworks, and cloud-based data solutions.
      • Ensure compliance with data quality and security standards.
    4. Project Execution
      • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data management projects, leveraging Agile methodologies.
      • Drive sprint deliverables to completion, ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery.
    5. Stakeholder Collaboration
      • Work closely with product owners, data architects, and business stakeholders to prioritize and refine the backlog.
      • Communicate progress, risks, and resolutions clearly and effectively.
    6. Tool and Technology Optimization
      • Implement and optimize tools for data integration, reporting, and analytics (e.g., SQL, cloud platforms, BI tools).
      • Evaluate new technologies to enhance data management processes.
    7. Resource and Risk Management
      • Allocate team resources efficiently across sprints to maximize productivity.
      • Identify project risks early and coordinate mitigation strategies.
    8. Continuous Improvement
      • Encourage a culture of iterative improvement through sprint retrospectives and feedback loops.
      • Promote adoption of best practices for Agile and data management workflows.

Must haves and Qualification Requirements:

    1. Demonstrated expertise in software development management coupled with a solid grasp of scrum methodologies is essential for this role. While it is not imperative for candidates to possess the skills of an architect, they should nonetheless have the capability to comprehend architectural principles and best practices. This understanding is crucial for effectively validating technical deliveries and ensuring that they align with the expected standards and requirements.
    2. In addition to software development skills, robust vendor management abilities are also a critical component of this position. The candidate should be adept at managing both product and systems integration vendor relationships to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient project execution.
    3. Proficiency with a range of tools and technologies is required, including but not limited to Talend (or comparable ETL tools), Java programming, and SQL for database management. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), is highly desirable. Furthermore, having expertise in SAP systems will be considered a significant advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to contribute effectively to our projects.

Ideal Skills/Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a Scrum master’s in large (10-20 people scrum team) data-centric projects.
    • Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Expertise in Agile methodologies and tools (like Jira or similar).
    • Proficient in programming languages: C#, .Net, Java.
    • Integration: ESB, Middleware and Data Engineering (Talend) and Microservices
    • Proficiency with DevOps tools and technologies: Google Cloud CLI, Kubernetes, Docker, Code Quality, and Vulnerability Metrics.
    • Proficiency with cloud services: GCP (GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Redis).

Important :

Work Location: Bay Area (Emeryville) –Candidate is required to be onsite 3 days/week. Someone who is local to the area or willing to commute 3 days a week.
